What Does a California Expungement Do?
Obtaining an expungement allows a person to state they have not been convicted when filling out a job or rental application.
A successful petition withdraws the guilty plea or guilty finding, enters a not guilty, then dismisses the case.
California Penal Code Section 1203.4 provides for an expungement if several factors have been met. It requires that probation has been “successfully completed” and that it is not a disqualified offense.
